Episode 1: Phoenix Rising
A series of unexpected deaths, in which the victims spontaneously catch fire, has the occupants of Eureka thinking about all manner of freakish theories including Taggart's theory that solar flares caused by the eclipse, or the 'Phoenix Effect, ' is to blame. As Carter brings out that a eruption of radiation from the artifact had got through the wall of the chamber and is to blame for the spontaneous combustion, it turns out to be a a race against time to save the other two people discovered - Nathan and Kevin.
